So Much Good Stuff

The commercial for AMPM states, "so much good stuff" and I've been lucky enough to have that over the past month and a half. While there have been ups and downs, overall, I would have to say that things are sailing pretty well after a turbulent July.

I'm currently in Oregon about to go visit Nike Campus in Beaverton, OR with my team. We're traveling 39 strong including our chaperones and are here to compete at the Three Course Challenge in Warrenton, OR hosted by Seaside High School. Our team looks good for the meet even though we're missing three from our varsity squads (two from girls, one from boys), we'll still be able to do well up here.

So far this season our teams has been doing well. Our freshman girls took 4th and our varsity girls took 6th at the Woodbridge Invitational where our team won 30 medals, which could be the most we have ever won. We normally do not fare very well at Woodbridge (http://wutanabe5.smugmug.com/Sports/XC/Woodbridge-Invitational-2009/9700082_X6yBK#656291124_QaA45), however, this year, I was very pleased. We also won four of the five divisions at the ABC District Championships (http://wutanabe5.smugmug.com/Sports/XC/ABC-District-Championships/9672818_6AiW2#653493467_TJ5PN)  and also 24 medals out of the 42 they gave out! Prior to that we took home five plaques including the small school awards for junior varsity and varsity and the overall girls sweepstakes for Division III-V schools at the Great Cow Run (http://wutanabe5.smugmug.com/Sports/XC/GCR2009/9596022_tRTrt#649084448_Mvr3W) . We also had a pretty good summer despite losing a few key athletes down the stretch. All in all, I can't complain and hope that we can pull things together when it counts though. After a great Mammoth Camp (http://wutanabe5.smugmug.com/Sports/Mammoth-Camp-2009/9219610_zDMdf), I'm sure we'll be fine.

This summer, one of my friends who coaches with me at Cerritos, Damon Gohata, got married (http://wutanabe5.smugmug.com/Weddings/DamonTraciGohata/9454721_iNYo9 - password needed)! It was a great wedding and I was honored to be apart of the wedding party. I took a lot of great pictures and was so overjoyed to be able to dance :) ... I haven't danced in a few weeks and realized I need to start going down to LA regularly, haha ... :D ... any takers??

I also finished organizing my 10 year reunion in mid-August. We had about 70-80 people attend and overall, I think that we had a good turnout and a very good time! I still have a lot of stuff to do for the reunion ~ contact book and memory book, however, I'l be done with it all very soon.

I guess other than that, I've been able to catch up with a lot of people, meet some more and just find time to enjoy everything such as eating good food, Disneyland and the Disneyland Half Marathon where I PRed this year in a cow jersey.

Hopefully things will be looking up in the future! I'll be writing again soon after we return from our race in Oregon and am back in the hotel!
