hand in hand, a union
a pair stood along the bluff
wondering if the love you had
would truly be enough

the dates that turned into chemistry
a look in the eyes made it clear
that this love that existed
would never disappear

spending time in the alley
showing those pins who was boss
a snowy skiing adventure
up, down, and across

fishing in the mountains
driving along the sea
no matter what you had planned
you were as happy as can be

as parents you did your duty
raising your children with care
a joy that you were so lucky
with each other you could share

while time has come and gone
there are things that remain the same
since that very special day
since you shared a single last name

you have circumvented the toughest times
the obstacles you have faced
as the stains that may have arrived
you worked together to erase

hand in hand you still stand together
sharing a life in which you coexist
knowing these could have been nothing better
than a union as wonderful as this
