~:[CH3 - Day 135]:~ Over The Divide
My Berlin Wall group during period 4 went a day early due to a schedule conflict and I am glad that they did, as it was definitely a refreshing end to my day. The artwork that ran across the room simulated the divide between the West and the East, as they simulated the blockade, the airdrops and the living conditions on either side. Similarly, in sports, the divide is ever so evident with Laker fans appearing out of nowhere to talk trash when the Clippers fell short (makes no sense to me), the Angels coming through with a walk offvictory tying the Dodgers in wins at this point, and of course, tomorrow's game 7 NHL game, which will create a divide among many local fans. Of course, West and East Germany eventually came together and my hope is that this world will eventually see that their divisiveness is what is limiting progress. If anything, I hope that the slogan that was developed this year becomes something that we work towards, as while it's just a game, now's the chance for this sport to make it more than simply a game, but rather a big step towards progress.
