~:[CH7 - Day 194]:~ Learning to Accept What You Dislike

~:[CH7 - Day 194]:~ Learning to Accept What You Dislike
We started the day at the beach for our first Saturday practice of the year. Most people know that I strongly dislike the beach for a number of reasons, but I have learned to accept it because that's just a part of my job. We practice at the beach, we have events at the beach and instead of avoiding it, I've learned to accept it. Sure, there are opportunities for you in your life to discard what don't enjoy, but somethings, you have just got to deal. I always catch myself complaining and I try to remind myself of this. I need to discard what is cancerous to my life, but also be open to accepting things that I cannot avoid. I like to be around people who can turn the bad situations into good ones or who can overcome what they dislike when it's more of an inconvenience. It's not an easy thing to do, but those are the people I want to surround myself with all the time. Life is never going to be easy and we're always going to have the opportunity to complain, as we'll be uncomfortable more times than not, but it doesn't mean we have to go about our days being negative, rather, we just need to change our perspective and learn to accept those things that we dislike, as often, those things hinder our progress. As the heat and fatigue surrounded me the rest of the day, I tried to overcome it so I could enjoy the obon festival as much as possible. I didn't want to let that and other things impact my enjoyment of what is a celebration!
