~:[CH7 - Day 181]:~ A Whole Different World
As I walked into the stadium, you could already tell. My friend is a Hanshin Tigers fan and I loved their colors so it worked out that I became a fan. I stopped by the fan store which is located near the stadium and even though Hanshin is the visiting team, there was a line out the door. The stadium is divided in half and you wouldn't dare wear the opposing teams clothing to the game. I loved how the fans cheered the entire time the team was batting and how they even allow both teams to cheer on their team, sold gear for the opposing team in the stadium, and even had competitions between fans of both teams ... rock, paper, scissors on the video board between a child from Hanshin and one from Yakult. From the beer served from the legs worn like backpacks to the diehard loyal support on both sides, I realized that it's definitely not a spectator sport in Japan. In the end, we won 15-7 I'm what was a fun game to watch and helped me realize just how amazing it is. If you're ever in Japan during baseball season, buy some tickets, get some cheering sticks for your team and just follow along and you're sure to have quite an amazing time in this whole different world.
