~:[CH12 - Day 35]:~ Celebrate

~:[CH12 - Day 35]:~ Celebrate

It was our last night in Vancouver and we ended up finally coordinating a team dinner. It's been tradition for us to eat at this spot and I am glad we finally got to eat together. A few of the students hit the end-of-the-week wall as fatigue took over, but nothing that a little Pedialyte couldn't help. The students faced the challenges in committee, mostly from being scorned for having too much information. I have always been an advocate to try to improve Model UN worldwide by trying to help program understand what it takes to truly be prepared for a conference and what it takes to do well. In SoCal, I think we are so blessed with so many strong programs and thus our level of preparation is always on another level. As always, I reminded the delegates to not worry about the other delegates and do MUN the way we know how to do it, substantively and diplomatically. While they will not all be happy with how things went during committee, I know I can be proud of them for pushing through and doing what they could to find success. After dinner, they all had their last chance to explore the city and one group went to catch the final showing of the night of the BTS concert at the theater. I did my final room check, finished packing, then spent the rest of the night, finishing up a video I needed to finish by this weekend. It was a great night and even I was celebrating as soon, instead of patrolling halls, I only have to worry about patrolling myself and making sure I get to bed on time. Let's celebrate!
