~:[CH12 - Day 39]:~ Believe

~:[CH12 - Day 39]:~ Believe

It can't always help you overcome talent, but belief in what you can accomplish can truly help you overcome obstacles you otherwise wouldn't have. It's hard to believe when you're down, but as I've said many times before, when you keep trekking forward, it does a lot to help you get to where you hope to be one day. However, in the process, if you lose faith in yourself, your chances of reaching those goals is quite slim. I know for this team, this win meant a lot. It was so hard for this team to believe in themselves at some point that even I sent a message to a player trying to ensure they kept the faith. After a thrilling first game win at Kennedy, the team dropped ten games in a row and 13 of 14 including a number of games where they collapsed at the end. I know there were doubts by the team, but they kept pushing forward. Even though they are a fairly young and inexperienced team, they hung tough, they rolled with the punches and got back up every time they were down. All the struggles they faced helped build a foundation for them as they moved forward. They improved, they gained confidence and slowly, they became polished. While they're still on the road towards their final goals, tonight was an incredible moment. They started slowly and went down by double digits in the first, they kept it at six at half, then they pushed forward with some tenacity at the start of the second, battled, then never looked back. Their focus, their intensity, their heart and most importantly, their ability to believe in what they could accomplished truly helped them win tonight's game. It was heartwarming to see them celebrate, jumping  up and down, as they stood somewhere that they could only be because they believed even when the darkness could have easily broken their spirits. Who knows what will happen down the line, but simply put, this game was one that I will remember for a long time as it truly was a gem that was developed through the challenges they faced over the past few months. They dedicated themselves, sacrificed so much, gave it their all and in the end, it all paid off. Congratulations!
