~:[CH15 - Day 78]:~ What's Right, What's Wrong
One of our alumni stepped back into the play arena as he appeared on the cast of Data. He played the role of a very assertive boss and his MUN spirit emerged as the dialogue felt like an unmoderated caucus. The short play aligned perfectly with our schedule and I was grateful to catchba glimpse of how things on stage have changed over time for him. I think the plays storyline brought up a few points of what exactly is right and what is wrong. Where do you draw the line between maintaining your status quo and comfort versus doing the right thing which may leave you in a disadvantage? I think a lot of people today need to think about that as they are tested on if they want to maintain their morals, ethics, and personal standards or stay loyal due to their job, leader, mentor, etc. In the end, only you can decide what is right and wrong, but I hope that we can all take a step back and look at the full picture to determine whether or not we are traveling on the path that meets what we hold true. Yesterday, Senator Mitt Romney addressed the students at NHSMUN and hoped that our politicians can do a better job working across party lines and find solutions rather than simply following blindly, often abandoning their own path they wish to take. The moments will come when you have to make those decisions and as tough as these moments will be, I hope you are able to make a decision that allows you to remain true to what you hold dear. Only then can it truly be right.
