~:[CH8 - Day 81]:~ Prepared for Change
The sound of coins echoed through my second period class. It's a small class, but even though it's my smallest class, they collect the most for Pennies for Patients. Every day, the routines was "journals," but instead of that, you'd here them counting their coins. It was the smallest class that raised the largest total and ended up with a per capita of just over 51 dollars. The effort they put in was astonishing and I was so impressed by them as well as my other classes that were looking for that change. Maybe today was a foreshadowing of things to come, as I was able to see things different for a change, as UC Irvine pulled the upset in taking down Kansas State. However, as they say, the more things change, the more they stay the same and in a bittersweet moment, the senior girls took a picture they've been doing since the start while they passed this tradition on to three freshmen. As we found success at today's races with a whole lot of PRs set, I was so happy by night's end with all that went on and while I know that tomorrow things may very well change, that is apart of life. While you cannot control what happens around you, you can prepare yourself for what is possible so that you can be ready for change. In all our lives, change is coming and how we handle it will show a great deal about the people we are and the direction in which we head. No one can predict what will happen next, but there isn't a reason why we shouldn't be prepared for the changes that lie ahead.
