~:[CH8 - Day 84]:~ In Exchange
This title is not a first. Every year, we have exchange students who visit us from Japan and this year also coincided with the arrival of dancers from Japan who have been competing in local competitions. It's great for our students to see them perform and to understand that differences in cultures. I think it's a great learning experience for our students to meet them and to learn from them in the process. I always like to do a little extra for them to welcome them to our school. The dancers impressed our students as we heard the oooohs, the ahhhhs and the cheers of our students. This kicked off our project diversity week, as we celebrate the diversity that exists on our campus. While students may not realize it, these is such a blending of cultures on our campus and a balance of various backgrounds. While we have our issues, I am amazing how great students get along and become cultured in the process. Life is not only about learning from a textbook, but also learning from what is around us. Through my travels, I have seen this and am glad the students can also see what they have to learn from that is directly around them.
