~:[CH13 - Day 1]:~ The Continuation
The first is often seen as a clean slate. Year after year I write about how I try to avoid resolutions, rather continue what I've been working on. It's definitely an opportunity to turn over a new leaf, but changing over time is much more healthy for our own personal growth. Much like we develop skills over time, we slowly see progress and change, much like my nephew whose drawing skills have definitely improved. While there was much more that I wanted to do on the first day of this new year, I avoided the resolutions once again and looked at what I wanted to continue working on as I move into 2024. We all have our own approaches, but whatever we choose to do today or for the rest of our lives, I hope that we push ourselves to be committed to achieving what we hope for. At times, moments may seem hopeless, life may seem unfair or it may seem like the world is working against you, but you have the ability to achieve what you hope for. On a day filled with so much pain and struggles as I read story after story about the earthquake in Japan, I also thought of these moments we face in each of our lives. Sadly there were lives lost, but for those who are survivors, I am confident that they will find the strength the rebuild and face these difficult times head on. Just like they'll need others to reach out and help them in these times in need, I hope that in 2024 and beyond, we can continue supporting each other so that we can face our own challenges in our life head on. Recovery, development, and change will not happen overnight, but if we are patient, determined and show some grit in these challenging times, I know we can persevere. Sending my prayers to those in Japan and wishing everyone a 2024 where we can learn, grown and most importantly overcome all the obstacles that come our way.
