~:[CH2 - Day 70]:~ The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
I should actually say great when referring to this wonderful ceramic piece by a student. I was truly impressed by the piece and was so touched by her inclusion of RNR on the medal. It serves as a constant reminder of what we need to strive to be. The good was going over character in class. I feel that the students really wanted to make a push to demonstrated good character, as they had seen when we watched Gandhi. While I am not sure how far they will go with the lesson, if each person does a little towards it, it will be a success. The bad was my attempt to run in the afternoon. While I reclaimed my pride this evening with a run with my Ragnar team, I still showed how much work I need to do to be prepared for the event which is in about five weeks ~ OMG! A derogatory e-mail can always be ugly. While I feel that I gave the best response possible. I did have to stand up for myself and say I would not accept the condescending remarks that I am not doing enough to prepare my students for MUN, for history, and that I am popular only because I give extra credit. I guess six weekends in a row dedicated to MUN and 12-14 hour days is not enough. Don't worry, I'll accept blame because of the low quality of work and missing assignments that led to the low grade in the first place. Que lastima! Let's find a few more hours to add into the day to make sure that gets done. At least the ugliness lit a fire in me ... I work best when I am upset :)
