On Friday, we worked for about eight hours hosting the first day of The International. We were thoroughly impressed especially by the middle schoolers from Jeju and the students from Pakistan. We've worked for awhile prepping for this conference and even with Nationals and the 50th, we were able to do a good job piecing this together. As we rolled into our second day, we saw the students from Europe including France and Greece, as we had our marathon day which lasted about 14 hours with a short break in the middle. During the break, it worked out that I could go and see Jordan and celebrate his birthday (a day early). It was fun to see them, even if it was just for a bit and a nice break from the screen after a tiring morning. I ventured back to my "cave" and for the remainder of the evening, we focused on wrapping up the Asia section of the conference, finished up awards, and looked towards the final half day ahead. It was great to celebrate the birthday, but also great to start the countdown towards the final few responsibilities I have for this school year. It's been arduous, but it's much easier when you see a light at the end of the tunnel. I was happy how the Asia session of the conference wrapped up and was able to relax knowing that things seemed under control.
