~:[CH13 - Day 230]:~ Transformation
To see athletes change from freshman year to senior year or even from year to year is amazing. With an early morning time trial, we got our first glimpse into how our team will look for the upcoming season. While we were missing athletes here and there, it was nice to look at the athletes and how they progressed since last season on this very course. We got hit hard with graduations last year, so this year's team needed to do a lot of work to fill in the gaps and make progress. It was nice to see some of the new athletes move up and some of the veterans break through for PRs. Our top girl ran to the #4 time in school history in just a short span of time, improving nearly four minutes from last season where she faced a number of obstacles. With every year, we face the different layout of the team and because of it, we see the transformation of athletes who step up into roles they didn't have previous. It's great to see! Who knows what the cards hold for this upcoming season, but what I do hope is, that each of these athletes finds a transformation they can be proud of. As much as we would like some things to stay the same, change is inevitable and thus we must always be ready to transform ourselves to adapt to any given situation.
