It was a long trek. Looking at my schedule tonight was probably the only night I could check out the meteor shower, but I realized that the moon would pose a problem. We did get some darkness earlier in the night just before the moonrise, but as the night went on the sky became too bright. Regardless, it was nice to chat, be in perfect temperatures in nature and even enjoy the car ride there and back listening to music. We hope for so many things in life and just like the dark skies we hoped for, we may not always get what we want. Out of the billions of stars in the skies, we always seems to wish on one for good things to come in our future. As we discussed what's ahead, it made me hopeful that those things I wished for would come true. As we discussed all these possibilities, we settled in the idea that having just enough would often make you the happiest. A comfortable life with everything you need and amazing family and friends could bring you more than having everything you want in life. As we took one last peak in the sky, there was disappointment as the spectacular meteor shower was overcome by the bright and might moon, however, just the few meteors we saw, made us content along with the simple fact of being together enjoying the beauty around us. Keep wishing on those stars hoping those wonderful dreams of yours come true, but in the process, don't miss out on the fact that sometimes the things we really need and should enjoy are already there around us.
