~:[CH12 - Day 165]:~ It's Okay to Dream
My friend and I ventured out for a trip to Osaka to check out USJ. I've already been, but last year all the things I had purchased from here were stolen when I mailed them back home (in the US). I figured, it would be worth it to head out there and enjoy the park. It was much more crowded than it was when I went last when few tourists were allowed in the country. I was a little sad about it, but still soaked it all in. As I thought about Hogwarts and all the "imaginary" spots around the park, it reminded me of the fact that while this is all imaginary, isn't okay to live in this fantasy, at least temporarily. We tell the children to dream of where they want to go or who they want to be, but as we journey through adulthood, sometimes the wear and tear of life can make us forget that we are still allowed to dream. Even in our ripe, old age, we have a right to dream of things we want to do, places we want to go, or things we want to accomplish. For each of us, this dream is different, but for all of us, that right is the same, it's okay to dream. We have responsibilities, but one of those responsibilities is to care for ourselves and ensure that we don't forget to allow ourselves to give ourselves the opportunities to achieve something we have hoped for. While flying on a broomstick may be a little farfetched, I know there are a lot of things we hid away in our closets as time has past and I hope you open up that closet, dust off those dreams and give at least one of them a shot.
