~:[CH12 - Day 269]:~ Let's Celebrate
It's nice when you wish somebody a happy birthday, but even better when you can do it in person. While it was a little late, it was great to be able to say happy birthday outside the virtual space. We often are confined by the box that is technology and to be able to break free from it back into the true world of interpersonal relationships is quite satisfying. A few of my athletes organized a spirit week for our team and it's been a great addition to create that interaction. More people planning and talking about what to wear and spurring up more conversations between team members. With today's fun hat day, it made for great fun just as we began our interval day. It ended up being a much better day, in part due to my meeting with them and the other part due to the ongoing events that has people excited. In the end, the birthday celebration was truly the cherry on top of the day as even though we were sans birthday hat, it still was a great night with a simple dinner to celebrate a great moment. Everyone celebrates and enjoys life in different ways and I hope that we all get to experience a variety of celebrations and I hope that most, if not all of them, are outside the digital realm, face-to-face, the way that celebrations should be.
