~:[CH13 - Day 143]:~ The Mt. Rushmore

When you think of Mt. Rushmore, you think of some of the presidents who have been monumental for some reason or another. Gutzon Borglum chose the four faces display on the mountain due to the most important events in US history. Just like the mountain, I think each community has those who they'd place on their Mt. Rushmore. It's fun to think about in each community in your own life, who would be those four who represent a time period that is most significant. Would you choose the individual most important or base it on what was accomplished during that time? Regardless of what your answer is, I hope that we can all be significant people in the communities that we work. While we may focus more in one community than another, no matter where we spend our time, I hope we do it well. Today, it was a nice celebration of some of the iconic member of our staff who were retiring. The oldest is the longest tenured at the district and was at our school since it was founded 53 years ago. In their own way, they've made an imprint on the school and the lives of thousands of students in their lifetime. I am so grateful to be able to work alongside them and celebrate this momentous occasion with them, the staff, and of course some visitors including my old principal and athletic director. Regardless, while today was an exhausting day as I edited until the very last moments of this day, it was motivating me to keep working and to do a good job, just thinking about all the work that these icons contributed during their career. Congratulations to all!
