~:[CH10 - Day 155]:~ A Farewell ... My Friend
Many times the retirement of a colleague is sad, but maybe none as sad as this year. Three of my colleagues will retire this year, all of whom were on staff when I was in high school. I've grown a close bond with all three and it breaks my heart to lose all three at the same time. On top of it all, another one of my colleagues is also leaving (although I didn't get a picture yet). Of course, while many of those I work with start out as colleagues, they also become friends. Even when they were staff when I was there, it's nice to be able to connect with them in a different way and just be able to talk about this and that. I am excited for what's on the road ahead for them all, however, I can't deny that I am sad to see the four go. I know at some point our paths will cross again, but for now, at least we have the many memories from all the years we've been together. At some point the school will hire someone to "replace" them in their position, however, they will always leave a void in our hearts as in our lives, they can never be replaced. To my colleagues, but more importantly my friends, I say my farewell, but also wish you well on the great things that await you ahead. Safe journeys!
