~:[CH10 - Day 167]:~ Stepping Up
It's been nice to have some entertainment between doing some work and getting some rest, trying to occupy the day. As I worried about the news that we got in the morning about Kawhi, I kept thinking about how we had to have guys step up. It takes a team. As I was sad as the Angels fell to the A's despite a nice home run from Shohei, I thought, would this be the fate of my Clippers later on in the day? It was not. This win means nothing for the games ahead, but it could be a sign of things to come. PG defied those who have hated on him, but it was also the "other guys" who stepped up and made the right plays. There were definitely some mental lapses that could have cost the game, but for the most part, they hit their shots, they made the plays and they stepped up. In most playoff games, teams do not go very far into their bench, however, it's been nice to see the versatility of their lineup whether to match up with a big or to play small ball. It could have been easy to have them fold when the Jazz were unconscious from the 3-point line, however, they hung in, kept playing D and eventually their defense locked down a bit more as they stuck to their plan and adjusted along the way. I like these wins best because everyone feels apart of it, but more importantly when they play a role, they work harder towards that common goal. I do not know what Friday will bring, but for now, I'll enjoy this hard fought win. To all of us, I hope that we all can work together, as just like this game, in life, we can find so much more success when we all play a role, when we all feel welcomed and where we all feel valued. Work hard, but in the process, raise people up around you, so that the burden doesn't fall all on your shoulders as the end goal will taste so much sweeter when you celebrate with those who fought alongside you in that journey towards that goal.
