day vs night

the darkness spreads overhead
as the sun fades away
what was once bright and sunny
turns a darker shade of gray

the clear and purified blue sky
turns to a rich, dark black
what was once a tranquil trail
has become the setting for an attack

the rays of sunshine are no more
the stars now rule the sky
as the battle for the heavens has begun
how will the sun reply?

like an inner battle that we face
of the evil and the pure
where on the spectrum will you fall
which side will endure

each side will unleash all their weapons
to be the one who claims the throne
as your mind, heart, body, and soul
is what each strives to own

a battle between the dark and the light
between the night and day
the evil and the good
the victor will soon be on display

suit up in your armor
march ahead and fight on
prepare for the struggle
as the battle has now begun
