extra push

you felt completely exhausted
not a single ounce left inside
your tank has arrived at empty
thinking it's the end of the ride

you put your head down in disgust
knowing you wanted to do more
yet you missed your opportunity
to find what else you had in store

you only scratched the surface
you did not search deep within
you did not push hard enough
to where your reserve begins

as you found a second opportunity
you hit the wall again
as you felt that feeling of exhaustion
reaching what you thought was the end

learning from experience
you reached deep within
as the reserve was found deep inside
a new stream of energy did begin

you pushed your limits, then some more
new barriers fell to the ground
as you discovered a way to get the extra push
as your potential is what you found

know you've never reached your limit
the end, is really never the end
as your potential is limitless
if a challenge to your mind you send

as the greatest performance still await
it only takes you to keep pushing through
as the ability to get that extra push
is just waiting deep inside of you
