rhythm

the beat of the drum
reaches deep in my soul
as the rhythm is what guides me
fulfills me, makes me whole

the emotion with each stroke
as the vibrations echo out
to add to the melody
a scream and then a shout

in a harmonious melody
in unison, perfection is found
in order to find a beautified
chorus-like, angelic sound

arms bent then extended
contact has been made
for an opportunity to be apart of this
there's nothing they would trade

as a family they grow together
as individuals become one
until the day they all align
after all preparations have been done

to some they'll hear the rhythm
others the story that lies within
listen carefully for the message
as they are about to begin

pay attention to the sounds
keep an eye on emotion within each song
as they'll become one with the music
so their performance can be strong

close your eyes and then open
your ears, mind, and soul
as you get yourself taken away
allowing the rhythm to take control
