looking up to the sky overhead
they spread their wings and soar
as you wish that you could join them
what an adventure that would be in store

left and right, up and down
in circles and loops in the sky
as you look and wonder what it would take
to allow yourself to fly

as you look to leap to the sky above
a rattle from your feet below
as from the shadows that you cast
the chains and shackles begin to show

in each our lives, we may find
that we are often left behind
forced to watch others fly
as our wings we search to find

the weights of life can often bind
leave our feet stuck to the ground
until that day we look within
until our freedom can be found

as in order to soar through the sky
to spread our wings and fly
we must allow ourselves to be free
to old weight we must say goodbye

we must take that risk to look ahead
of faith, we must take a leap
as with it we will shed all holding us back
giving us a freedom that's ours to keep
