~:[CH5 - Day 309]:~ Speeding Through the Night

~:[CH5 - Day 309]:~ Speeding Through the Night
I woke up early in the morning and headed to breakfast with Nate. It was nice catching up and seeing what was going on, as it always is to catch up. We chatted until he had to go to work and then I headed back home to get some work done. I gathered my paperwork, downloaded the CIF heat sheets and the headed to East West Ice Palace. It was really fun skating around with this group of athletes and even better than no one got hurt. We continued our venture and headed to Albertacos before we were off to K1 speed. I had a pretty good start to the day, but after qualifying third, I got knocked around a lot in the final round. Despite having the fastest lap in our final, the results are picked by the order in which you finish rather than fastest lap like the previous finals.  Regardless, I had a great time and it was fun racing with this group who was much better than those we have taken in the past. Oh yeah ... Kendall, yes, Kendall won. I guess that's a great reward for him since he helped us out! Not as many slow downs in the races = a lot more enjoyment. We stopped off at Frostbites as our final stop before heading on our separate ways. I shot pool late into the night, but as I dazed off and started thinking back to the day, it was a great one. As while the checkered flag has been raised on the day, it will be a day that I remember for many years to come, as this group was competitive, fun, and also very appreciative and for that, I am also very appreciative.
