~:[CH5 - Day 328]:~ Running to Glory
We had a lot of success with our cross country team this year. However, with all of the success, I also did the least amount of running personally, which made today a scary one. I woke up at the time I was suppose to be leaving, so I jetted out, half prepared for the day and with almost no miles on my legs. I guess that could be a good things because my legs would be fresh, but also bad because I would not be in shape at all. I ended up starting in wave 2 since I did not want to battle the crowds to get to the first wave. It was the best decision that I made, as I went at a slow but reasonable pace and picked it up in the second half of the race. I ended up making ground despite a bathroom stop and even had enough for a kick at the end. My time? Let's not talk about that. However, one of my runners won his division and I won our deal with my handicap. Not too shabby. As the day went out, I had a lot of work to do including packing. I got it all done (or at least what I could) and then headed to Thanksgiving dinner. I had enough time to make saltado and it came out pretty good! It was another great night with the family, but sadly, I cut it short again, as I headed to the airport to catch my flight to Hong Kong. I am definitely thankful for all the opportunities that I have had in my life, the things I am blessed with and the wonderful people I am surrounded by. Thank you all for being part of my life, as there isn't anything I would trade in this world for the comfort of my friends and family who I hold so dear. I hope to see you all soon, but for now. I'm out!
