~:[CH7 - Day 338]:~ The Growing Pains
When I spend time with the youth, it makes me think of my opportunities to grow up and all the pains that came along with it. Let's face it, even as we get older, we still face the same pains of growth. However, it's part of the process. If I had a chance to transport back into the body of a five years old, I wouldn't, but if I did, I would say, just take life head on. You're going to make bad decisions, make mistakes, and fail. You won't always be able to stay in your lane, but that is part of life. You learn how to get back on track so that you can head down the highway and cruise on along. Life is painful, but that is the part that makes it fun and interesting. It's true, I would never go back and try to live life again, as I am comfortable where I am at, but if I did, at least I would know that the pains along the way were well worth it in the end. In our day and age, many of my students are coddled and protected, but in reality, being exposed to all that is out there has taught me so much more and I think in the end, I was ready for the world when I stepped into it. Sure, there are many realities I didn't have to live through since I lived a privileged life, regardless, I still took my bumps and bruises on my way to where I am today and for that, I am forever grateful.
