~:[CH13 - Day 73]:~ Celebrating at 50
It wasn't a typical start to the conference as they brought in a Brooklyn drum line to energize the crowd. I think it did as it seemed as if they students were excited for what was ahead. The groups I bring always work so hard to ensure that they are ready for committee and often time it shows. Still yet, despite their preparedness they are nervous, they still review over and over, and some even have their doubts. Of course, once it begins, they seem to just flow as all that preparation pays off. Instead of having to improv, the students have loads of facts and information as they properly represent their countries. They exemplified the words of the guest speaker Anthony Fauci who talked about allowing the facts to guide and on the first night, they did just that. Who knows how the conference will turn out as things always change after day one, but I know that no matter how it goes, I know that the group has done what we expect of them and more to ensure that they can perform as best as possible, especially when celebrating this 50th anniversary of NHSMUN.
