~:[CH9 - Day 7]:~ From Great to Greatest
I think we all do it. We get ourselves into something to try to be good or great at it and aim at reaching the top. More often than none, you fall short of that, even though you made a valiant effort at it. However, there comes those moments where someone reaches that peak and tonight, we highlighted that. It was a great moment to be able to recognize Evan Leonard who grew over the course of his years in the program. All his moments were not highlights, but in the process, he learned from those mistakes, fine tuned himself and found himself a top the school records in points, steals and 3-point baskets. For some, they rely on talent and while having talent helps, Evan worked hard to develop that talent and it led to him standing at center court today. It was a proud moment to be able to announce for this event and to create a tribute video for him. Our family has kept tabs of him over the years and my parents were so excited to be able to see his games in the Big West, NCAA tournament and even in the MGM tournament in Las Vegas. It's wonderful when you get an athlete or student who is great, but it's a precious moment when you find that athlete that takes a few more precious steps to the very top. Congratulations Evan Leonard!
