~:[CH5 - Day 99]: ~ Reasons to Celebrate
It was a weird day. It looked like the storm would pass on, but it just seemed to linger around. Nothing bad, just drizzle, but it just wouldn't go away. After getting a lot done at work, I got around to picking up a cake for one of our captains. He definitely has been a big part of this program and am glad to have surprised him, even though he went into work after school. After our food run, we called him over and was able to get our group to wish him a happy birthday. It definitely was a reason to celebrate along with the fact that it was Friday. Regardless, it was definitely a well-deserved surprise for someone who has shown that while you may have struggles beyond belief, you can overcome them if you are persistent and resilient enough. I have learned so much from this experience and while I may not have experienced it first hand, being around him through the best and worst times, opened my eyes and has made me a better person, inspired and motivated to do more than just the average. Unfortunately, my cold is still lingering. I hope to get rid of this thing soon, but I guess only time will tell. For now, I will load up on meds and sleep knowing that today was definitely a good day. Good night and let's celebrate - it's the weekend!
