~:[CH13 - Day 45]:~ Another Day, Another Tough Road
I left practice a little late as one of the areas didn't clean up yet. After shutting them down, I headed home and hitched a ride with my parents. I felt bad that they waited as I dragged them into a traffic jam, but I was also a bit glad I was not alone as I was a bit more tired today after a late night of work. It was another tough drive taking two hours and 30 minutes, but it ended up being well worth it. Just like our drive, the game itself was also a tough road. The team was down by four at the half, came roaring back to take the lead, and lost the lead again. Just when it looked like they'd win in regulation, a late three pushed the game into overtime where we finally pulled away for a victory. It was great to watch them celebration and release the emotions that were pent up after a grueling final stretch of emotions, but in the end, they'll be headed home for a semifinal game at home. While I missed a few of the games, it's been a tough road for the two teams the last four games. The boys traveled to Yucca Valley which took my parents three hours and 30 minutes and traveling to Highland took me two hours and 45 minutes. My parents went to Santa Barbara to watch the girls play against Dos Pueblos and took another few hour drive for today's game. All in all, I'm sure that we are all glad not to have to take a bus for this weekend's game, but still yet, the road ahead will still be challenging and I hope that both these teams can stay focused as the continue to trek down this tough road. We're headed home!
