~:[CH13 - Day 58]:~ Take Your Best Shot

As I really wished that I could have attended both games, I was glad to get the good news as I was heading down to the boys games that the girls had won. It was nice to hear them bounce back for a win against a CIF champion, as they pulled the upset. I was hoping that the boys could do the same. After practice, I headed down to San Diego and arrived just before tipoff. It was a great environment to play in despite it being much smaller than our crowd at CIF Finals. The teams battled back and forth and late in the game, it looked like they would take the game after we made a few turnovers and they converted. However, just like always, our team showed heart and battled back. They tied the game with five seconds to go, but sadly, University City hit a buzzer beater to win the game. In life, you're not always going to come out on top, but even when you're at a disadvantage, you shouldn't give up and give yourself every opportunity until that final buzzer sounds. This team has impressed me so as they always battled and always gave it their best shot. In the end, it was the opponents who had their shot fall, still yet, there's no doubt that tonight, we had found victory. We found victory in the fact that we never gave up, that they gave it 110% and that they clawed their way back in despite it looking hopeless with a few minutes to go. So many of the opponents fans came to our bench and congratulated and complimented the team on a great game. Yes, I was sad that we didn't end up pulling out the W, but still yet, there was no room for disappointment, as they truly laid it all out on the line. I hope for all of us, in our own lives, we're able to give it our best shot.
