~:[CH8 - Day 7]:~ Straight Out of the Future
At DDP (Dongdaemun Design Plaza), I couldn't help but think, I feel like I am walking through a Korean drama set about the future. The design of this area is quite impressive and makes you wonder what the future is going to be like. It also makes you think about what your own future will be like. I think it's important to look forward to the future, but also not to get so wrapped up in it, that we forget to see the issues of the present. At the same time, we can't allow our present to hold us back from our future. While it feels like a lose-lose, honestly, it's all about balance and harmony. I wasted away time in the area, as I wanted to be here when the day turned to night, as the spectacle of the DDP LED Rose Garden would begin as the plaza lights up with an entire field of flowers, but I was more impressed by the building itself, especially at night. I ventured around Seoul a bit longer and soaked it all in, but didn't stay out too late as the bitter cold began to roll in. It's not as cold as it could have been, but definitely colder than I'm used to. As I walked, I began to imagine how my future would shape up, but still remembered to enjoy all that was around me in the present. Just like how this amazing complex took shape, I will slowly begin to build my future one layer at a time in hopes that it will turn out as amazing as this beautiful place.
